Beechworth Ghost Tours
In early 2008 historic guided walking tours started at the former Mayday Hills Asylum in the grounds of La Trobe University at Beechworth. In the mid 1860s Beechworth’s Mayday Hills Hospital, was developed as the Beechworth Lunatic Asylum.

A 1.5 hour discovery tour captures what life was like in this type of institution of that era. Parts of the tour take you deep inside buildings that have been closed for more than 30 years. Your tour guide will give a fascinating history of this establishment and some spine-tingling stories that may have your imagination working overtime! Tours leave nightly after dusk.

We are offering three value packages
Alongside families, couples and individuals, our packages have great appeal for special groups such as hen’s parties and reunion groups. It is recommended that children under the age of 8 do not take the tour. Babysitting is offered at our motel for younger aged children.
